The Extended Post Care Support (EPCS) program provides continued assistance to young adults aged 18 to 21 years who have transitioned from the child safety system. Many young people leaving care face challenges as they begin their journey towards independence, from managing finances and finding stable housing, to pursuing education or employment. EPCS ensures that this transition is supported, empowering young people to build a stable, confident, and independent future.

What We Offer

Through Extended Post Care Support, young people can access a range of practical and emotional supports designed to make the transition out of care smoother and more sustainable. These include:

  • Financial assistance to help with rent, household setup, education, training, or employment needs
  • Guidance and mentoring to build independence, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Connection to community services and networks for ongoing health, wellbeing, and personal development
  • Support with housing and living arrangements to promote safety and stability
  • Access to advice and advocacy to help navigate adulthood confidently

All support is tailored to the individual’s needs, ensuring every young person has the tools and encouragement to shape their own path.

To be eligible for the program, participants must have been subject to a Child Protection Order on their 18th birthday.
