Next Step Plus (NSP) provides tailored and culturally safe support for young people aged 15 to 25 years who are currently in, or have transitioned from, out-of-home care. Our goal is to help you take the next steps toward independence with confidence, connection and support.
Who We Support
This program is available to young people aged 15 to 25 years for those who are currently in care or have previously been in care or individuals who are or have been subject to a Child Protection Order from age 15 plus.
Our Purpose
Transitioning to adulthood can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. The Next Step Plus program offers practical help and guidance to make sure you’re supported every step of the way, from finding housing to building essential life skills.
How We Can Help
Our team works with you to create a personalised plan that reflects your goals, culture, and community connections. We can assist with the following:
- Finding safe and stable housing
- Accessing education, training or apprenticeships
- Exploring employment or career pathways
- Building life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and managing your household
- Connecting to health and wellbeing services
- Linking to community support and cultural networks

Our support is build on trust, respect and self-determination, ensuring every young person feels seen, heard, and supported in a way that’s right for them.

Express Your Interest
This service is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged 15 to 25 years of age who have been in out-of-home care. You can either self-refer or be referred through community and support services.
