The Family Participation Program (FPP) supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to engage confidently with the Child Safety system. We understand that navigating this process can be overwhelming and emotional, which is why our team is here to walk alongside families with care, respect and cultural understanding. Our role is to ensure families voices are genuinely heard, their perspectives are valued, and their choices are respected throughout every stage of the process. We help families understand Child Safety’s worries and concerns, advocate for their children’s best interests, and support them to be active participants in all planning and decision-making.
How We Help
Our Family Participation Program provides tailored support to help families strengthen their relationships and stay together. We:
- Support families involved with Child Safety
- Guide families through meetings and case planning
- Work with parents and caregivers to identify supports and services
- Advocate for family voices
- Help families reunite
Our approach is grounded in respect, cultural knowledge and partnership, ensuring families remain at the heart of every conversation about their children.
